LUFKIN – Texas Transportation Commissioners have approved a speed limit change in Polk County that will also include a reduction in speed through a school zone.

The speed limit on FM 350 in Livingston will be reduced from 55 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour from US 190 south for 1 mile. This section includes a school zone at Livingston High School where the speed limit will be reduced from 35 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour when school zone lights are activated.

Motorists are urged to stay alert to new signage as it is installed and obey the lower speed limits. The new limits are enforceable once signs are set.
